It’s a delicate balance. That’s why we build our IR lamps to hit a very specific sweet spot. The nitty-gritty on power and voltage Most of our high-output lamps run on 400V systems. Why? Because it keeps the current draw low while still giving you the raw wattage you need. When you’re pushing 2000W to 4000W per tube, you get the kind of heat density that lets you keep your line speeds fast. We’re very picky about the filament length, too. We want the heat to be dead-even across the whole board. If the wattage is too low, you’ll end up with cold spots. Too high? You’re looking at blisters in your finish. Neither is a good look. Quartz and the “plug-and-play” factor We use heavy-wall quartz glass because these tubes take a lot of internal pressure and heat. Some of them even have a special coating that shifts the emission spectrum. This ensures the energy hits the coating, not your conveyor belt. And about the connectors—we use R7s or SK15. We do this specifically so they’re drop-in replacements for OEM Barberan setups. They just snap into the sockets. No custom wiring, no headaches. It makes swapping them out during a maintenance window a breeze. What happens in the real world These lamps are built for the grind. They live in high-volume industrial shops and they take a beating from constant thermal cycling. The best part? They start up almost instantly. No waiting around for a gas oven to warm up. But here’s the thing: you have to watch your heat load. Packing this much energy into a small space means your exhaust fans have to do some heavy lifting. If your ventilation isn’t up to the task, the ambient heat just builds up inside the housing. That’s a fast track to burning out your lamps way too soon.
